Man arrested for trying to set houses, a truck on fire

HAZARD, Ky (WYMT) - Police say he tried to set a truck and two homes on fire in the Vicco Community of Perry County, and now he is behind bars.

Johnny Williams is charged with two counts of arson, one count each of criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance.

About a year ago when police say Williams threatened to set himself on fire, doused himself in gasoline, barricaded himself in a house, then came out swinging a golf club.

"The Perry County police department and Tony Eversole, for the last 15 years, they don't like a punk hill like me. And they just keep putting charges and charges on me all they can. I don't live in Perry County, and I wasn't in Vicco none of them. And I'll kill them and they can kill me, and it will all be over for all of us. And that's it," said Johnny Williams from jail.

He says he did not try to set a truck and two houses on fire, and denies the most recent charges.
