Man arrested in Ohio could be chase suspect

Police say a man behind bars in Ohio for a weekend robbery in Clay County is believed to be the man who led police on a multi-county high speed chase last Thursday.

Kentucky State Police say that 36-year-old Michael Elam, of Ohio, held up Toby's Grocery on Highway 11 Sunday.

He is also suspected in the three-county police chase that ended in Laurel County, when police blew out his tires, and then he ran, starting days of searching.

Following the Sunday robbery, Elam got away, and was later arrested in Ohio on unrelated charges.

Two others were arrested in connection with the robbery, including a juvenile.
