Whitley County man arrested after being found in the middle of a road

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky (WYMT/WKYT) - A man in Whitley County is arrested after police found him sitting in the middle of the road.

Williamsburg City Police say Sammy Smith, 41, of Rockholds, was arrested after they found him sitting in the middle of Rock Springs Road in the Gatliff community of Whitley County on Friday evening.

He was arrested and charged with public intoxication, possession of marijuana, and being a fugitive from another state.

According to an Indiana warrant for Smith's arrest, he was wanted for domestic violence involving strangulation, as well as failure to pay child support.
