ASHLAND, Ky. (WYMT/WSAZ) - Kentucky State Police have arrested a father accused of assaulting his two-month-old son.
Investigators say they received a report on Sunday, January 5, about a two-month-old being treated for a head injury at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
State Police say during their investigation, they were able to determine the baby's father, Shannon Wagoner, 32, of Grayson, hit the baby in the head, causing the injury.
Wagoner was arrested Wednesday in Boyd County.
They say at the time he was arrested, he also had drugs in his possession.
Wagoner is charged with assault first degree domestic violence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
Kentucky State Police say the little boy has been released from the hospital and is going to be ok.
