Man charged with slapping toddler is out of a job

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An Idaho man could get up to a year in jail if convicted of slapping a toddler on a plane.

The 19-month-old boy's mother says Joe Rickey Hundley slapped her son in the face on a flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta Feb. 8, when her son started to cry because of the altitude change. Jessica Bennett says the slap scratched her son below his right eye and caused him to scream even louder.

Following the incident Hundley lost his job with a company that designs aerospace and defense parts.
