LETCHER Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Friends and family are mourning the loss of one Letcher County man who died during a chain saw accident.

Officials say 39-year-old Charles F. Yeary died when his chain saw kicked back and killed him.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 16th on Harrison Branch Road.

We contacted numerous officials. All who declined to comment at the request of the family.

We talked to Rosa Breeding who lives on Little Colly Road in Isom.

Breeding watched as first responders arrived on the scene.

"Two ambulances, two state police cars and the coroner," said Breeding. "I was saddened because I knew it was something bad."

She was sitting on her front porch around 4 p.m.

"An ambulance came up the road and he was going real fast. He stopped, turned in my driveway and he was spinning gravel. He was in such a hurry," said Breeding.

Breeding says neighbors heard yelling.

The county coroner says Yeary was pulling a tree out of the woods when his chain saw kicked back and hit him.
