LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A bizarre attack leaves a man with serious injuries and sends another to jail.
Danville police say Damarintae Fischer, 23, poured boiling water over MDre Whitehead, 20, during an argument about a game system.
Whitehead suffered severe burns to his face, neck, shoulders and chest and had to be transported to the burn unit at UK Hospital.
"It was terrifying, I'm still shaken up about the whole thing," said Willa Ford, a friend of the victim.
Ford says the two men were arguing over an XBox, that Fischer claimed Whitehead stole from him.
"It didn't have too go this for, Dre didn't even steal it," she explained.
Police say they quickly apprehended Fischer and charged him with first degree assault. He's being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
Whitehead's mother tells WKYT her son may lose vision in his right eye and, he will likely have longterm effects because of the seriousness of his injuries.
The investigation continues.
