Man facing charges in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - A Laurel County man is facing charges after police say he made a deal with undercover officers to buy a food stamp card.

Deputies with the sheriff's department tell Mountain News 42 year old Joey Woods of London posted on the internet that he would pay cash for the card.

Detectives set up a deal in which Woods would pay 100 dollars in cash for 200 dollars worth of groceries.

After the groceries were bought, officers took Woods into custody.

He is being held in the Laurel County detention center.
