Man facing charges in Wise County, Virginia

WISE, Va. (WYMT/WJHL) - A Lee County man faces attempted malicious wounding charges in Wise County.

Scottie Sam Bostic, 60, was arrested in Washington County, Va., on Friday, on three attempted malicious wounding charges stemming from summer events in Wise County, according to a written statement from the Wise County Sheriff's Office.

Bostic is accused of attempting to hit several cars with his own "at extremely high rates of speed," the statement said.

Someone reported to police Bostic had followed them home and blocked them from leaving, while others complained he flashed his lights and sounded his horn while swerving toward them on the road, the statement said.

Most of these reports stem from U.S. 23 near Big Stone Gap, between July and September, police said.

The Sheriff's Office, the Washington County Va., Sheriff's Office, the Smyth County Sheriff's Office, the Abingdon Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service worked together to investigate the reports, the statement said.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call the Wise County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigation Division at (276) 328-3566.
