KNOTT CO., Ky (WYMT) - A man has been indicted on federal charges in connection with a double murder in Knott County back in July.
Eugene Slone is now charged with killing Davey Sparkman and Keisha Sexton in the Topmost Community.
"It's like they are gone away and they are coming home, but they are not. They were two lovable kids, and how someone could do this to our kids," said Keisha Sexton's mother Lettie Sexton.
Now Lettie Sexton says she is getting some justice with the federal indictment charging Slone with the two murders.
"A monster is not good enough a word for him, it's not. Our kids would do anything for anybody, and they were friends with that man," said Lettie Sexton.
Count two and three of the indictment say Slone did kill Sparkman and Sexton with the intent to retaliate against them for providing information to a law enforcement officer.
Count one of the indictment charges Slone and 11 others for conspiring to distribute oxycodone in Knott, Letcher, Clay and Perry Counties.
"I started bawling my eyes out, I started crying. I called my daughter and told her I said, 'they have got him for murder,'" said Lettie Sexton.
She now says she can't wait to go to court and get justice for her daughter Keisha and her daughter's boyfriend Davey.
The federal indictment says Slone could face the death penalty for the two murders.
Slone is already in custody on the drug charges.
