HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - A Harlan County man is behind bars after police say he burglarized two homes and abused a dog that lead to its death.

Patrick Hubbard was arrested Monday on two counts of burglary.

Police say Hubbard broke into two homes on the same day earlier this month.

“Mr. Hubbard kicked the door in at the residence, went into the residence, and began to stomp and kick and beat the owner's dog to death,” Harlan County Sheriff Marvin Lipfird said.

In the other burglar, an arrest warrant says he assaulted someone causing physical injury.
