While the worst of the weather held off this afternoon, it looks like we will still see some strong storms later tonight, generally between 8 p.m. and midnight. These storms will likely feature strong winds and hail, with heavy rain and an isolated tornado (mainly possible in the Cumberland Valley/I-75 corridor) being the secondary threats. Keep it locked here for the latest.
A home in the Wilder Community of Leslie County was shot into multiple times during a fight last night.
Police say Rodney Maggard's home was shot at by Thomas Asher, who had two shotguns and a handgun. They say Maggard then used his hunting rifle to return fire. Officials say Asher was shot once in each shoulder and the knee.
They say Maggard called 911 and told them everything that happened at 11:30 p.m. They say Asher, although shot, was alert and able to speak when they arrived. Officials say Asher has not given a statement.
Police say they are not sure what caused the confrontation.
"We have to do more investigation. Once it's complete, we can determine if it's a home invasion, a self defense type of situation. We don't know at this time," said Sam Mullins, Leslie County Sheriff's Deputy.
Police say Asher is in the ICU at UK Hospital. They say they are going to the hospital tomorrow to try and talk to him. Nobody is facing charges.
