Man shot during break-in now faces charges

JOHNSON CITY, Tn. (WYMT/WJHL) - A Lafollette, Tennessee man shot while allegedly trying to rob a Johnson City home has been charged the crime.

Thursday night, Police charged Lam Duc Nguyen Hoang, 27, with aggravated burglary and theft.

Investigators say he was the man who broke into a home on White Way Drive in Johnson City and encountered the homeowner who was armed with a gun.

Wednesday, police took Lam Duc Nguyen Hoang from the scene of the robbery to a local hospital where he was kept overnight for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg. Thursday night, he was booked into the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center
