Man accused of assaulting a deputy jailer is back in jail

A man accused of assaulting a Perry County Deputy Jailer and stealing his van back in August is finally back behind bars.

Stevie Wynn was re-arrested Thursday morning after a nearly eight month long search.

Officials found Wynn hiding under a bed in a home in the Mayking community.

The Letcher County Sheriff says it was a tip that finally led them to Wynn.

“He was hid under the bed and he would not come out and even when we confronted him and knew he was in there he still resisted and wouldn't come out, that's when they deployed the tazer on him,” Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb said.

Wynn will now face charges of escape, assault and wanton endangerment.
