Police call him a career criminal - one that started a stealing spree in Central and Eastern Kentucky! London Police have a man behind bars in connection with more than four thousand dollars in credit card thefts.

Police arrested Timothy Argebright in Berea Wednesday night and brought him back to London. Since then they've learned he could be linked to thefts across the state.

The shopping spree started a few weeks ago at the London Wal-Mart and then continued across Central Kentucky.

"He bought a big screen TV," said Stewart Walker, London Police Chief.

That was one of the first purchases made at Wal-Mart. Police said on September 30th, Timothy Argebright swiped two credit cards out of an employee's car outside the PNC Bank in London.

"Purchases started coming in on those cards," said Walker.

Next stop was a convenience store where the suspect is caught on camera buying cartons of cigarettes and a pack of soda.

"Traveled between Berea, Stanford, Somerset, Columbia," said Walker.

Police said Argebright continued along I-75, racking up thousands of dollars in charges on the credit cards stolen in London.

"Going and making these purchases then pawning the items," said Walker.

A tip led police to identify Argebright as the man in the surveillance video. Their investigation revealed this type of heist isn't anything new to him.

He's on parole because of similar charges. Police said they're glad to see the spree stop here.

"You want to do right by the victim in these things," said Walker.

Argebright is being held in the Laurel County Detention Center. He declined our request for a jailhouse interview.

Shelbyville, Georgetown, and Columbia Police have all contacted London Police because they believe this man may be connected to similar crimes in their cities.

Argebright is being held on $10,000 bond. Police believe he had accomplices.

The employee whose credit cards were stolen at PNC Bank was unavailable for comment.
