A man has been accused of setting his home on fire with his wife and nine month old child inside.

Officials said it happened just before 4 this afternoon off Highway 7 in Jeremiah.

Kentucky State Police Det. Randy Combs said they were told 28-year old Lawrence Ugene Halcomb set the fire after firing shots near the direction of his wife and child.

Nobody was injured, but the home was destroyed. Halcomb eventually turned himself in after police searched for him. He was arrested and taken to the Letcher County Jail.

He has been charged with six counts of first degree wanton endangerment and one count of first degree arson.
