Man convicted on several charges up for parole this year

A Letcher County man who was convicted of assault, escape and robbery in 2007 is up for parole later this year.

Jeremy Franks will have a parole hearing in August.

In 2007, police say Franks was being driven back to jail after a visit to the Whitesburg ARH, when he attacked the deputy with a weapon and left in his car.

Franks was later found hiding in his fiance's closet at an apartment in Cumberland.
