Man is sentenced to ten years in prison

A man will spend ten years in prison after police say he tried to run over two officers last year.

Police say Charles Hocker was violating an emergency protection order and driving under the influence in Pikeville when police responded.

Police say when two officers stopped him he allegedly tried to run over them.

Officers fired multiple shots.

Hocker survived and was charged with attempted murder.

He took a deal and pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment and DUI charges.

The judge sentenced him to ten years.
