A man is now charged with murder after a shooting in Letcher County.
Police say 44 year-old Alfred White shot and killed a man inside a trailer in Jenkins.
Police are not releasing many details right now, including the victim's name.
Officers say someone inside a home in the Premier Subdivision in Jenkins called 911 after 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
"Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject had been shot in the back," said Trooper Adam Hall with Kentucky State Police.
Police say the victim was still alive, and quickly taken to Whitesburg ARH.
"From what I know, he was staying there. He's originally from Georgia and had been staying there for a while," said Hall.
The victim died a short time later.
Meanwhile, police questioned the four other people who were inside the home when the shooting occurred to try and piece together what happened.
Police obtained a search warrant, and searched the outside of the home with a K-9 unit.
Inside, officers found a handgun, the one they say likely killed the victim.
After interviews, three of the witnesses were released, but police arrested and charged Alfred White with murder.
"As far as I know, he hasn't confessed to anything at this time. That's under investigation by the detectives," said Hall.
The 44 year-old White was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was taken to the Letcher County Jail.
White is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, and there is no bond set right now.
Police say they are waiting to release the victim's name until his family has been notified.
