Man sentenced for kidnapping, robbing elderly man

A Pike County man accused of kidnapping, robbing, and threatening an elderly man is sentenced to 17 years in prison.

State police say last year, 27 year old Glen Kinney was hitch hiking in Ferrells Creek when an 83 year old man offered him a ride.

Police say Kinney had the man pull over, took his money, and then knocked the man to the ground.
Detectives say Kinney then placed a knife to the man's throat and made the victim go withdraw more money from the bank.

Police say then they went back to the elderly man's house where Kinney stole items, and then the victim tried to escape, but Kinney caught him.

Investigators say Kinney later abandoned the elderly man on an abandoned strip mine.

Kinney pleaded guilty to robbery, kidnapping, and theft charges.
