A Pike County man is sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing another man last year.

Police say 28 year old Kenny Scott shot 48 year old Dwight Vincent Kelly.
Scott was charged with murder but he accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The victim's family is satisfied with the plea deal and sentence.

More than one year has passed since preacher Dolph Kelly lost his younger brother, Dwight Vincent Kelly. "I think of him everyday when I get up in the morning and when I go to bed at night. It's hard, it's really hard," said Dolph Kelly.

Last year in September, Dwight Kelly was found dead in his home from a gunshot wound to the head.
"It's something you never get over, never expect to get over, but we have to learn to deal with it and cope with it," said Dolph Kelly.

Part of coping with it was facing Scott in court. He chose not to seek a harsh punishment against Scott for his brother's death.
"Two wrongs don't make a right. His children are going to suffer without a daddy for a long time. I'm a Christian, so I pray for this young man. I pray for his family. May God help those kids make it and his wife," said Dolph Kelly.

Dolph Kelly says he uses his brother and Scott's story while preaching in drug rehab centers.
"Being bitter doesn't bring my brother back. Him losing his life or them taking his life for the crime doesn't bring my brother back. Hopefully, through all we've been through, someone can see there's a better life and that's through Jesus Christ," he said.

Scott received credit for the year he's already served in jail during the court process.

Dolph Kelly says his brother, Dwight Vincent Kelly, also left behind two sons.
