A manhunt is underway in Johnson County for a man who escaped from a halfway house in Louisville.
Police say the suspect, Daniel Bell, is from Paintsville and left the halfway house about a month ago, just a few weeks before his sentence ended.
Friday afternoon, officials say he was spotted at a shop on Highway 321.
When officers tried to arrest him, he ran into the woods.
Now police from several agencies are searching along Highway 321 for him.
“He's been over the hill and hit the hill and that's all we know. We’ll look for him till we find him. It may take us awhile, but we'll get him,” Bobby Hyden said.
Paintsville Police say Bell was serving time for robbery charges.
There is no picture available yet for him.
