MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Dozens took advantage of Black Friday deals at the Middlesboro Mall.

Manager Charles Burchfield said this is the first year the mall has opened its doors at midnight. He said around a dozen stores wanted to take part in opening when the clock struck 12:00.

"I am out here trying to buy gifts for christmas and trying to save some money," said shopper Ashley Smallwood.

Burchfield said everyone was excited about the deals and Belk's Department store had the highest crowds in the past.

"Oh yeah i have got some smokin' deals!" said Austin Roark, a repeat Black Friday customer from Pineville.
"I just love battling the crowds, trying to win gift cards, all of it."

While many enjoyed the chaos, others said they would rather shop another day.

"It's crazy, I ain't never coming back," said first time Black Friday shopper Tyler Mangum.
"It's too many people."

Most of the people who showed up said they got everything on their wish list.

"We got everything we needed and we are happy," said Liza Rogers.
"We love it."

Burchfield said he anticipated more sales throughout the entire day and from the looks of things, they would probably continue to open their doors early.
