PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) A western Kentucky charitable organization is planning to move to a larger location and possibly expand services.
Martha Bell told The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/15zhppm) that she and other volunteers are working to transform a former steakhouse into a kitchen and dining hall for Martha's Vineyard.
The organization has cooked and delivered meals to veterans, the disabled and the elderly for more than two decades. Bell said she hopes to offer expanded services at the new location including a recreation area and visits from a nurse twice each month.
The restaurant was purchased in the spring by real estate agent and developer Mary Sue Brooks who offered to lease it to the organization for $1 annually.
Bell says she hopes to have it ready in a couple of weeks.
