McDonald's demolished in Paintsville

One of the first McDonald's in eastern Kentucky is demolished.

Crews are tearing down the McDonald's restaurant in Paintsville to make room for a new one.

The owners say the restaurant built in 1979 is outdated.

They plan to replace it with a new building with all the latest perks.

Many former employees came to see it go.

"Lots of memories have been made here. It's especially been bittersweet for Bob and I. We started this venture with our parents and they have since passed, but it's a great thing we're taking out the old and bringing in the new," said Tom Hutchison, owner.

The new Paintsville McDonald's should be built in 100 days.
