Flu season is here and according to the CDC, it's officially in Kentucky.
The first flu case was confirmed this week in Jessamine County and as a result, the CDC is pushing for vaccinations.
The young, the old, women who are pregnant, and those with a chronic illness are all more susceptible to the virus.
However, health professionals are encouraging everyone to be vaccinated.
There are two types of vaccinations:
• Flu Mist
• Flu Shot
"The shot is more conventional and with the nasal spray it's a live virus so that kind of scares people off, they think they are going to get sick from that,” Rocky Jett said.
An average of 23,000 people die each year from the flu.
