Meeting to be held about rescue squad's fate

Posted: Tue 10:11 AM, Mar 15, 2011

There is hope officials will change their minds about shutting down a rescue squad when they meet Tuesday.

Officials shut down the Morehead-Rowan County Rescue Squad, saying the fire department can do the same job and taxpayers will save money.

Squad members say they are needed in times of emergencies and natural disasters.

The Rowan County Fiscal Court is scheduled to meet Tuesday morning.
