Just weeks after a pregnant mother was murdered, her family is preparing to honor her memory in a very public way.

31-year-old Sarah Hart was killed while jogging last month in Russell County. Today, her family was honored in downtown Lexington following the Bluegrass 10K. Hart's family received a warm welcome from a large crowd.

A foundation has been established in Hart's honor, to help raise money for area students who want to pursue careers in the medical field. Hart was a pharmacist. Hart's father, Pastor Wendell Roberts, says it's what Sarah would have wanted

"To know that people still remember and to know that people are loving us enough, that's all that's getting us through. And to know that the race today, they're promoting us and promoting our race, you know, I can't thank people enough," said Wendell Roberts, who is Sarah's father.

That next race in Sarah's honor is set for August 11th in Russell County. A portion of the proceeds from next month's race will help benefit the Sarah Roberts Hart Foundation.
