MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Police say they found meth labs in plain view at a home in Middlesboro. Four people are now behind bars on meth-related charges.

Middlesboro Police say they went to Harold Price's home on New Wilson Lane to investigate an unrelated case.

"The owner of the house gave them consent to search and one of the first things they saw was a lab. One of the young men was holding it in his lap," said Police Chief Jeffrey Sharpe.

Officers say Charles Wayne Shelby was the man with the active lab in his lap.

Police say they found several other active labs in the home.

"Three labs of varying stages of the process. These were all what we refer to as 'one-pop,'" said Chief Sharpe. "I would assume some of it would be for sale and some of it for their own use."

They arrested four people. Harold Price, 44, Charles Wayne Shelby, 41, Nakisha Warf, 27, and Ronnie Turner, 62, have meth-related charges.

No one was at the home to comment.

A sign is now posted notifying of the meth that police say was in the home.

"It took several hours to clean up. We called disposal experts to haul the active labs off," said Chief Sharpe.

Police say the neighborhood is safe from the meth labs.

Warf, Price, and Shelby are being held in jail on $100,00 bond. The suspects are due in court on January 22nd.
