Slick roads will greet most folks as you head out the door this morning, so take your time on that commute. Most of the major rivers have started to drop, but there is still some flooding in some areas. Keep it locked to WYMT for updates.
BELL COUNTY, Ky, (WYMT) - Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Healthcare officials are celebrating the opening of its cardiac cath lab and the 10 year anniversary of the Air Evac program.
Officials from the hospital say the new cardiac cath lab will provide a wonderful service for cardiac patients.
Michael Slusher is their community CEO. Slusher says it is important for the Middlesboro ARH to have easy access for patients to transfer to Hazard, Lexington or Knoxville when they need cardiac care that is not offered locally.
"There's a saying, um, in health care that time is muscle. It's heart muscle. So it's important that we have that easy access and Air Evac is a wonderful partner with us," said Slusher.
Hospital officials say their partnership could save patients lives by reducing times for critical health care services.
