Mine closing leaves dozens of miners looking for work

HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT/Harlan Daily Enterprise) - Dozens of miners in Harlan County are looking for a new job.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports two mines with Southern Coal Group's Justice Corporation's Liggett area operations were idled Wednesday.

Local officials with the company told the paper the shutdown leaves about 75 miners unemployed.

No word on if the closing is permanent or temporary.
