A coal mining accident in Harlan County sends one man to the hospital.

It happened Monday at the Stillhouse Mine in Lynch.

Jimmy Saylor was working on a belt in the mine at the time of the accident.

Saylor is in stable condition at Holston Valley Hospital with several injuries.

Electrical inspectors were on site checking the equipment.

Officials are trying to determine whether the accident was a mechanical error.

The mine was closed Monday, but re-opened Wednesday.
