Mingo County, WV to open new airport

A West Virginia airport is one step closer to opening.

The Logan Banner reports the Federal Aviation Administration approved the opening of Mingo County's new airport.

Currently, the landing strip and tie down will be the only services available but officials say they are seeking funding to add an administrative building, hangers and a fuel farm.

The airport will be named the Appalachia Regional Airport and is expected to open June 26th.
