Another band of snow will move into the region tonight. That plus temperatures into the lower 20s will create slick spots across the mountains. Additional accumulation of up to a half inch is possible in the valleys, while up to an additional inch is possible on the ridges. Senator Mitch McConnell announced today one corporation received a grant for manufacturing and it will bring more jobs to Eastern Kentucky.
The Senator says the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation received an $800,000 grant, which is expected to bring 40 jobs to the area.
Senator McConnell was contacted by the KHIC president requesting support for the grant application.
He then sent a letter telling them he supported the program.
The money will also be used to expand manufacturing facilities in Jackson and Clay Counties.
