WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

More Eastern Kentucky communities cancel fireworks shows

Some towns have canceled their fireworks.

We have already reported that Corbin canceled their fireworks display.

We have learned that fireworks shows in Jackson County, Breathitt County and Johnson County have all been canceled.

The Breathitt County judge executive did, however, tell our newsroom that officials are currently working on rescheduling their event.
