More than 5,000 Kentuckians register with FEMA

More than 5,000 Kentucky tornado victims have registered with FEMA and so far almost 15-million dollars in assistance has been approved for the 21 counties designated for FEMA help.

About 6 million of that is going towards housing needs such as home repairs or rental assistance.

Almost 7 million has been approved for U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loans.

The disaster center in Magoffin County will close Saturday evening and the one in Morgan County will close next Wednesday.

Tornado victims can still apply for assistance until May 7th.

You can apply at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA.
