More than usual turnout at job fair following coal layoffs

A job fair Thursday in one town was a little more crowded because of recent layoffs in the coal industry.

Hundreds of people turned out at Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Paintsville to meet with about 20 different employers.

Officials say more than 75 people came to the job fair within the first hour of it being open and most of them were laid-off coal miners.

This year alone, we have reported on more than 13-hundred layoffs in the coal industry.
