Morehead State enrollment jumps, others flat

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Enrollment at Kentucky's public colleges
and universities is largely flat this fall with the notable
exception of Morehead State University.

University President Wayne Andrews attributed the 18 percent
jump in undergraduate enrollment to stronger recruitment among high
school students in eastern Kentucky.

Enrollment figures were released in Lexington on Thursday by the
Council of Postsecondary Education, according to the Lexington
Herald-Leader.

Only Morehead State gained in double digits.

The University of Kentucky remains the state's largest public
university. Counting both undergraduate and graduate students, UK
has about 6,000 more than second-place University of Louisville.
Western Kentucky University is second to UK in undergraduates.
