Motion in murder case will be ruled on soon

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - A motion is expected to be ruled on soon in the case of a woman charged in connection with the beating death of an elderly man in Bell County.

The Middlesboro Daily News reports Candy Maiden's Defense Attorney has requested statements made about her by co-defendants be dismissed.

They argue if the statements are allowed to be used in the trial it would violate Maiden's rights guaranteed by the confrontation clauses of the sixth amendment.

Prosecutors say in 2008, Maiden and four others murdered 91-year old William Taylor in the Frakes community.
