Mountain News profiling two Eastern Kentucky groups helping our neighbors in Alabama

Updated: Mon 9:33 AM, May 09, 2011

For many in Northern and Central Alabama, the cleanup process is just beginning.

Volunteers from across the country, including several groups from right here in the mountains, are pitching in to help those who lost everything from the deadly tornadoes of April 27th.

"Brother Chad Brock came to me and said let's take some water, I said let's load it up and go." Pastor Danny McCreary from the Verda First Baptist Church said.

Starting Monday on Mountain News at 6, we begin a special three part series from Alabama on local folks helping out our neighbors to the south.

You will hear from two groups of volunteers from the mountains and a meteorologist from Birmingham who was on the air when the storms formed.

We hope you will tune in at 6.
