It is a case that left a family and community on edge. More than one year ago police found, Timothy Austin, dead inside his apartment. Since then, very few details have been released in the case and officials are asking folks with information to come forward.
A year has gone by since the apartment above 'Bargain Basement' in Prestonsburg became part of a murder investigation.
Detective Chris Phillips says, "We discovered Tim Austin deceased inside his residence."
Detectives say on October 22nd of last year they found the 52-year-old inside the apartment on Hibiscus Court, where neighbors who a year later still do not feel comfortable talking on camera...say an unsolved murder this close to home is unsettling.
"We have had a lot of developments and received a lot of information regarding the case, however we do believe there is more information out there. We want to encourage folks with information to come forward," says Phillips.
Initially officials did not release any information surrounding Austin's death, like how they believe he was killed. Now, they are now providing a bit of new information in hopes it helps with the case.
"It was confirmed that it was homicide by gunshot wounds," says Phillips.
Releasing information that Austin was shot multiple times, hoping to find those responsible and provide some answers for his family and the community.

A Floyd County man is dead and police are calling it murder.
Police are keeping quiet about the details but did tell us 52-year-old Timothy Austin was found dead in his home on Hibiscus Court Tuesday afternoon.
Neighbors say Austin was new to the neighborhood living in an apartment above a store called the Bargain Basement.
The Floyd County Coroner says Austin was pronounced dead around 12:15 Tuesday afternoon.
No officials are releasing his cause of death
Neighbors say this is highly unusual for this neighborhood, and they say police told them to stay on alert.
The coroner says Austin's body was taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.
