National Prescription Drug Take Back day is this weekend

Operation UNITE, along with several local police departments will team up this weekend for the annual National Prescription Drug Take Back day.

The event, started by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency back in 2011, has already netted nearly three million pounds of drugs.

The event will run from 10am-2pm at locations across the mountains.

Here are the locations you can take your unwanted medications to:


Grundy-Walmart, 1st floor

Coeburn-Coeburn Police Department

Big Stone Gap-Food City


Pennington Gap-Food City


Hazard-KSP Post

Harlan-KSP Post

Prestonsburg-Attorney General's Office

Beattyville-Lee County Sheriff's Office

Pikeville-KSP Post

Pineville-Pineville Police Department

Morehead-KSP Post & Morehead Police Department

Mt. Vernon-Mt. Vernon Police Department

Ashland-KSP Post, Ashland Police Department, Kings Daughters Medical Center

Monticello-Monticello Police Department

West Virginia:
