Richard Haas says he’s been talking to Heather Kaminskey by phone quite a bit ever since his neighbors were arrested for taking in her baby in exchange for a Dodge truck
“I know she don’t care and she thinks it is their baby. She feels she gave it to them. The way they went about it was wrong,” Richard Haas said.
Kaminskey told Haas she’s in Kansas.
“She told me that she has already talked to the detective and that they can come and get me. This is where I’m at,” Haas said.
We here at WYMT got her phone number and tried calling her as well, but all we got was her voice mail.
Police say they’ve spoken to Heather Kaminskey as well, but her whereabouts are unknown.
They tell us that she has told them she’s everywhere from Florida to Philadelphia and Kansas.
They say the only thing they know for sure is that Heather Kaminskey is not being truthful.
Police say Kaminskey ended up selling the truck for cash and meth, but Haas says she's out of money...but possibly still on drugs.
Police say they’re using assistance and technology from the US Marshal’s service to pinpoint her whereabouts.
Once caught Kaminskey faces human trafficking charges as well as a Class B Felony punishable by 20 years in prison.
Neighbors tell us that the baby at the center of this transaction was given the name “Julian.”
The 6 month old is now in the custody of social services.
