New head ranger announced for Kentucky's State Park

PRESTONSBURG, Ky (WYMT) - A former instructor at Prestonsburg Community College is the new Head Ranger for Kentucky State Parks.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Joe West of the Kentucky State Police was announced as the Chief Ranger on Wednesday.

West began working with state police in 1978 and was also an instructor at EKU, Prestonsburg Community College and the Kentucky State Police Academy.

As Chief Ranger, he will oversee security at all of Kentucky's State Parks.
