New adventure tourism trail opens in eastern Ky.

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) - Officials in Harlan County are developing an equestrian trail that will connect to Cumberland Gap National Park.

Kentucky first lady Jane Beshear said in a statement Thursday that Brush Mountain Trail will be "another outstanding adventure tourism destination."

She said officials hope the 9-mile long trail will attract equestrian tourists from all over the region.

The trail is expected to open during the first half of 2012.
