The city of Evarts has a new mayor.
The city council picked council member Eddie Manning as the town's new leader Tuesday night.
Manning also works for an equipment company in Harlan and turns 42 years old Friday.
Manning says he will serve until November, 2012, when an election will be held.
Manning replaces long-time mayor Burl Fee, who recently died.
Manning says Fee's son, Burl Fee Jr., will replace him on the city council.
