A new study claims opening casinos in Kentucky would have a more than $1 billion economic impact in the first year alone.

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce released the study Monday.

According to the Herald-Leader, the study found casinos would also create nearly 11,000 full-time jobs.

Governor Beshear wants a constitutional amendment to be put on the ballot that would let Kentucky voters decide whether to expand gambling.
