New trial date set in Harlan County hate crime case

A new trial date is set in a federal hate crime case.

20 year old Anthony Ray Jenkins and 37 year old Jason David Jenkins are charged in the case.

Officials say the two kidnapped a man in Harlan County and severely beat him, because he is gay.

They will go on trial October 15th.

Prosecutors say this is the first federal case involving the sexual orientation section of the hate crimes law.
