PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police officials say no foul play is suspected in a church fire.

The fellowship shelter at the East Pineville Missionary Baptist Church burned to the ground.

Church members say someone who lives nearby saw the flames and called 9-1-1.

Church members say the fire department was able to contain it and save the auditorium.

The exact cause is not determined yet.

“For all the church members, some came in last night and were crying, no one was hurt and our main auditorium is okay, so the lord took care of us,” Dennis Woods said.

The state police arson investigator is looking for the cause.

The church has insurance to cover the loss.
