Officials in Harlan are working on horse and hiking trails

HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials in Harlan County are working on ways to show the county's history along horse and hiking trails.

The Judge-Executive says they are working on a trail that would go by the old Putney ranger station and fire tower.

They also want to add loops to cities and places for people to hitch horses so they can visit historical sites in the cities.

The Judge-Executive says they are working with Letcher County to make it part of the Little Shepherd Trail.
